Self-Management - You can help in the following ways:
- If recommended by your Health Care Provider you may gently retract the foreskin once during bathing
- During retraction, clean the exposed part of the penis with warm water
- Dry the head of penis carefully
- Rinse all soap from under foreskin (may cause irritation and swelling)
- Avoid vigorous retraction (may cause foreskin to become stuck behind head of penis)
- Retraction is excessive if it causes any discomfort or crying
- Any degree of retraction is normal as long as the boy has a normal urine stream
